As Maria Montessori argued, children aged 0 to 6 years old can assimilate naturally the things around them and this is called Absorbent Spirit.
For better cognitive performance was defined as “Sensitive Periods” for the child’s development and it is up to the prepared adult identify each period and guides the children to a better learning.
Movement
From 0 to 1 year old – The baby learns to master his gestures that in the beginning can not be controlled and slowly learns to hold, touch, turn around, balance up, crawl and walk.
Language
From 0 to 6 years old – The baby begins to vocalize sounds, babbling becomes words and finally sentences
Small Objects
From 1 to 4 years old – Children show interest in small objects and minute details, their eye-hand coordination becomes more refined and precise
Grace & Courtesy
From 2 to 6 years old – The kid loves to imitate the polished and respectful gestures. That’s how she appropriates these qualities. Good examples should be reinforced at this stage
Senses
From 2 to 6 years old – Sensory education begins from birth, but from 02 years old the child is fascinated by sensory experiences (vision, hearing, taste, smell and touch)
Writing
From 3 to 4 years old – Montessori found that the writing comes before reading. The child begins to reproduce the words and names on paper

This school is very nice, I attended Montessori when i was little, that was the best choice my parents could have done for my future. I’m grateful for Montessori learning techniques. If you’re on the fence, just go by and look how beautiful the school is.Posted on Anna Nikolaeva6 July 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve had a wonderful experience at IMK. The teachers are kind, patient, and truly care about the kids. Our daughter loves going every day—she’s learned so much and always comes home happy and excited to share what she did. The environment is warm, safe, and nurturing. The management is very responsive and dedicated to providing a positive experience for both children and parents.Posted on Atiba Wallace6 July 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am very pleased to have my children going to this school. One major concern I have had with other schools are with the administration. With International Montessori Kids Center the staff and teachers are active with my children's well being and education. As an educator myself I believe they are one of the only schools in South Florida to give the best education to my children. I'm so grateful to have learnt about this school. We appreciate the staff and teachers for all of their hard work and care.Posted on Emily14 October 2021Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have been so happy with our decision to send our son to Beachside. He comes home happy and has learned something new every single day. The teachers are WONDERFUL and our son adores them. It is an amazing feeling knowing you are sending your child somewhere they love that will nurture them and help them to blossom socially and academically.Posted on Dr Katia Khan Tikhonravova9 October 2018Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best school we could ever choose for our girl! We go her for almost a year now. She is happy to go to school in a morning and does not want to leave when I pick her up (and this is a child that loves to stay home!). Everyday she comes home genially knowing something new. For instance, they helped her understand the value of numbers, rather only their name. They are also very flexible to my child’s learning interests. I strongly recommend this school.Posted on Rubia Cirigliano2 August 2018Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best school experience I had with my child so far for early learning and development. They are great with the kids and very nurturing especially with the really little ones.
